My Life Chose Me: A Young Mother’s Guide to Surviving the System

This resource was created by Young Women’s Freedom Center.

So many mothers have lost their children because of lack of information and access to resources. This book was made so that mothers and their families would be better able to understand their rights.

The mission in writing this book is to give mothers a better chance of keeping their children. This book is also for children who have been taken from their mothers through Social Services (otherwise referred to as “Child Protective Services,” or CPS) or due to their mother’s incarceration.

This book is intended to be a resource in service of keeping families together.
