Join us in New York for a special event honoring the creativity, vision and leadership of young people impacted by incarceration.

This free, public exhibition and workshop will showcase the art, writing, analysis and editorial contributions of more than 50 currently and formerly incarcerated youth featured in the No Kids In Prison magazine.

We’ll have enlarged artwork, photography and writing on display from the magazine, exploring themes of freedom, abolition and transformation. Don’t forget to take home your free copy!

Textiles Workshop with Samantha Cortez

Samantha Cortez is a Bronx-based mixed-media artist, who will help participants create textile pieces inspired by the magazine, youth justice and their own lived experiences. Samantha is the Arts & Community Engagement Manager at Artistic Noise, the inaugural youth fellow at Center for Art & Advocacy and a contributor to the magazine.

Letters to incarcerated young people

Join us in sharing messages of hope and solidarity with young people at Nassau County Juvenile Detention Center in Westbury, NY. Letters help young people stay connected to the outside world during a very isolating chapter of their lives.
