As children and families across the country face deepening economic uncertainty and mounting threats to their health and well-being, now is the time to come together and mobilize around ideas for how government can re-commit to families and to its responsibility to effectively provide the opportunities all families deserve.
The Center for the Study of Social Policy’s fall summit, Ideas into Action 2026, Shaping a Just Future for Families, will bring together leading voices, including: policymakers, researchers, service providers, funders, organizers, young people, and families who are directly impacted by public policies and systems for engaging conversations and practical workshops to advance policy and system change efforts that will set a new course and shape a just future for families across the country.
As we look ahead, we must forge a collaborative approach and ground our work together in a deep understanding of how public systems work today and what children, youth, and families want and need, so that we are poised and ready to implement change that meaningfully delivers for families.
Over two days, we will explore bold policy proposals and practical tools to address some of the most urgent challenges facing children and families today—from growing economic instability to making childcare more affordable to safeguarding child and family well-being amid immigration enforcement and preventing involvement with the child welfare system.
Thoughtful and inspiring speakers will motivate us toward a shared vision.
Summit panel sessions will offer ambitious and forward-looking discussions, while addressing the practical policy challenges of today.
Workshops will offer concrete skill-building and tools to help participants advance their work in support of family well-being, centered in today’s challenges and opportunities.
