This event is hosted by In Our Names Network
You’re invited to our Centering Survivors wellness event in Pittsburgh, PA! It’s an evening designed for Black girls, women, femmes, trans, and non-binary survivors of police violence to pause, reconnect, and pour back into themselves.
Join In Our Names and Take Action Advocacy Group as we honor the life of Daphy Michel, a Hatian asylum seeker who was tragically killed days after detention by local police and an ICE monitoring release in Pittsburgh.
She was targeted, criminalized, and surveilled based on her racialized & gendered identity, and in this moment of crisis - her citizenship status.
The expansion of power of ICE & Homeland Security impacts us all and ultimatley increases harm of our communities. This is why we fight to abolish policing in all its forms. ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
We will center meaningful conversations around wellness, survivorship, and self-care. Enjoy:
