This event is hosted by Warehouse Life.
This Pregnancy Loss Awareness Day (October 15), Amazon workers and allies will gather to demand an end to the brutal treatment of pregnant workers inside Amazon warehouses.
Every day, pregnant workers at Amazon try to enforce their rights under federal law—like being allowed to sit, take breaks, or avoid heavy lifting and dangerous ladder-climbing. Instead, Amazon's unjust policies lead to devastating consequences: preventable miscarriages, premature labor, and medical emergencies that put both pregnant workers and babies at risk.
These tragedies are not accidents. They are a business decision made every day by Amazon leadership—including Edith Cooper, the Amazon Board Committee Chair responsible for warehouse working conditions. Instead of acting to protect pregnant workers, she is ignoring our pleas. At the same time, she sits on the board of Mount Sinai Health System, one of the best maternity hospitals in the country.
That’s why we are bringing our stories to the doors of Mount Sinai Maternal Care. Pregnant and postpartum Amazon workers will testify about the conditions in Amazon's warehouses for pregnant workers and what it feels like to lose a pregnancy because of Amazon.
We are not here to protest the incredible hospital employees who support us through pregnancy. We are here because Mount Sinai deserves trustees who uphold the same standard of care and dignity that its staff provides every day.
Join us to hold Amazon and Edith Cooper accountable—and to say loudly: No one should suffer pregnancy loss or risk their baby’s life just for doing their job.
